L'industria dell'occhialeria: Safilo S.p.A. Esperienza nell'area Product Creation Financial Analysis

After an introduction to the Eyewear world, Safilo's dimension and characteristics, its main competitors and the Belluno disctrict, I describe the project I've followed during this five-month experience. I was assigned a project regarding corporate costs, to improve Safilo's cost targeting process and to extend the cost cntrol system. The project had the objective to solve an issue occurring in the cost control system, consisting in a gap between product creation finance, which is based on pre-engineering estimates, and product supply finance, which is based on standards post-engineering phase. During the engineering phase cost deltas were arising and there was no control of it. My main functions have been to accomplish an in-depth analysis to assess the magnitude of those quotations discrepancies, explain reasons and drivers for changes and recommend potential improvements into the process to enable the product creation analysis to extend its scope to final standards.
