DSA: Regolazione emotiva e funzioni esecutive

This script wants to investigate how Executive Functions work, especially emotional regulation and decision making, in subjects with Learning Disabilities (LD). To do this, differences and similarities between typical subjects and subjects with the disabilities get analyzed in the execution of activities which involve these executive functions. In the first place the most important executive functions will be described with a careful analysis and distinction between them. Then a short review about some experiments which analyze the relation between LD and two executive functions (decision making and emotional regulation) will be presented. In the end the different aspects of comorbidity existing between LD and ADHD (attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder) will be analyzed trying to investigate what they have in common and what they don't, in order to understand similarities and differences in the neurological origins and consequences of these diseases.

Questo elaborato vuole indagare come lavorano le Funzioni Esecutive, nello specifico regolazione emotiva e decision making, nei soggetti affetti da Disturbi Specifici dell'Apprendimento (DSA). Per farlo si analizzano differenze e similitudini fra soggetti tipici e soggetti affetti dai disturbi nello svolgimento di attività che coinvolgono queste funzioni esecutive. A questo proposito verranno prima descritte le funzioni esecutive più importanti, effettuandone una attenta analisi e suddivisione. Poi si presenterà una breve rassegna di alcuni esperimenti che analizzano il rapporto fra i DSA e due funzioni esecutive: il decision making e la regolazione emotiva. Infine si analizzeranno i diversi aspetti della comorbilità esistente fra DSA e ADHD (attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder) cercando di indagare cosa condividono e cosa no, al fine di capire le similitudini e le differenze nelle origini e nelle conseguenze (a livello neurologico) di questi disturbi.
