A morphological, structural and surface properties characterization of three alumina supported platinum nanoparticles catalysts characterized by different preparation procedures and dispersions is performed by coupling a series of techniques (Transmission Electron Microscopy, X-ray diffraction and FT-IR spectroscopy of chemisorbed CO), with the aim of correlate the physical-chemical properties of the three samples with their preparation methods. Moreover, reactivity of such systems was investigated by FT-IR spectroscopy of chemisorbed hydrogen, with the purpose of conducting a characterization of the platinum-hydrides species involved in hydrogenation reactions in which these systems are massively employed. Finally, the reactivity of the three catalysts was followed by FT-IR spectroscopy during the hydrogenation of simple aromatics (toluene).

Abstract
Finally, the reactivity of the three catalysts was followed by FT-IR spectroscopy during the hydrogenation of simple aromatics (toluene).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
