"UMMA Ḫépa-SUM": una nuova edizione di KUB 15.5+

The aim of the dissertation is to analyse the Hittite text KUB 15.5+. The main topic of this document is a series of dreams, mostly made by an anonymous Hittite king (generally definded ¿His Majesty¿) but also by other characters. My goal was to identify that king, the other historical characters and the deities too (the most mentioned is the enigmatic DINGIR-LIM GAL, literally ¿the Great God(dess)¿ or ¿the Greit Deity¿), in order to come to a dating proposal. In order to reach the above mentioned goal, I began from the personal sight of the pictures taken from the original clay tablets (available on the web site of Mainz University) and modern copies; I translated the text from Hittite to Italian, then I made a cross-dating by comparing the document with other (translated) Hittite sources, such as texts and seals. I also used many contemporary works composed by scholars from numerous universities (both abroad and Italian).

L'obiettivo della dissertazione è l'analisi del testo ittita KUB 15.5+. L'argomento principale trattato dal documento è una serie di sogni, compiuti perlopiù da un non precisato sovrano ittita (generalmente definito ¿Sua Maestà¿) ma anche da altri personaggi. Il mio intento era quello di identificare tale sovrano insieme con gli altri personaggi storici e le divinità (quella la cui presenza è pervasiva in tutto il testo è l'enigmatica DINGIR-LIM GAL, letteralmente ¿la Grande Divinità¿, o ¿il Grande Dio/la Grande Dea¿), al fine di giungere a un'ipotesi di datazione. Nel perseguire lo scopo, ho innanzitutto visionato autopticamente le fotografie delle tavolette originali (disponibili sul sito dell'Università di Magonza) e le copie moderne; ho traslitterato e tradotto il testo dall'ittita all'italiano e ho effettuato un incrocio con altri documenti ittiti quali testi e sigilli (in traduzione). Nel condurre la mia ricerca mi sono avvalso della produzione scientifica di numerosi studiosi appartenenti a diverse università italiane e straniere.
