SHARING ECONOMY: DEFINIZIONI, TEORIE E PROBLEMATICHE

The aim of this work was to describe Sharing Economy phenomenon in its various dimensions, trying to show its causes, history and technical aspects. We have deepened the national and international studies and definitions from economic and social disciplines to offer them an interdisciplinary evaluation. We came to investigate the various theories that seek to explain the phenomenon and we brought out the economic and legal issues that are emerging. The central purpose of this paper was to answer the question whether Sharing Economy was a new economic system, or the evolution of a particular structure that already exists. According to our thesis platforms Sharing Economy can be theoretically interpreted using the so-called Triptych of Polanyi. In fact, if the three Polanyi structures (exchange, redistribution and reciprocity) already co-exist in reality and are socially accepted and widespread, our hypothesis is that they are also developed through the different online platforms of Sharing Economy. Finally, we addressed the topic of the problems concerning the growing power of control that the company is giving to third parties through the platforms of Sharing Economy. It is an transfer of all our information, which if continues, will cause a chain reaction, first of all in economic terms and then on the legal and political level. The heterogeneity of the phenomenon and the variety of issues treated, make it necessary to further deepen the study of Sharing Economy, to better understand and delineate the discipline and it's administration.

L'obiettivo di questa Tesi è stato descrivere il fenomeno della Sharing Economy nelle sue varie dimensioni, cercando di mostrarne le cause, la storia e gli aspetti tecnici. Abbiamo approfondito le statistiche di importanti ricerche nazionali e internazionali e le definizioni provenienti dalle discipline sociali, economiche e giuridiche per offrirne una valutazione interdisciplinare. Siamo giunti a indagare le varie teorie che si propongono di spiegare il fenomeno e abbiamo fatto emergere le problematiche economiche e giuridiche che si stanno delineando. Lo scopo centrale di questa trattazione era rispondere alla domanda se la Sharing Economy fosse un nuovo sistema economico o l'evoluzione di una particolare struttura già esistente. Secondo la nostra Tesi le piattaforme di Sharing Economy possono essere teoricamente interpretate utilizzando il cosiddetto Trittico Polanyiano. Infatti, se le tre strutture di Polanyi (scambio, redistribuzione e reciprocità) coesistono già nella realtà e sono socialmente accettate e diffuse, la nostra ipotesi è che esse si siano sviluppate anche online tramite le diverse piattaforme di Sharing Economy. Infine si è affrontato il tema delle problematiche, relativo al crescente potere di controllo che la società sta cedendo a parti terze attraverso le piattaforme della Sharing Economy. Si tratta di una cessione di tutte le nostre informazioni personali che, se continuerà, provocherà una reazione a catena prima di tutto sul piano economico e poi sul piano giuridico e politico. L'eterogeneità del fenomeno e le problematiche sottolineate rendono necessario approfondire ulteriormente lo studio della Sharing Economy, per meglio comprenderla e delinearne una disciplina e una gestione sovranazionale.
