The title of this thesis 'Albania between two myths: Italy and the United States of America from 1989 to 2011' presents the study of an area which is based on a personal interest. This thesis represent the historical and political evolution of the relations between Albania-United States of America and Albania-Italy as a very important partner in the European Union. The study is focused especially in the influence that these two western countries, with two different models of governance, have in Albania and highlights their important support in the process of democratization after the fall of Communism in 1992. In this work I am going to analyzes the importance of Italy and USA in the Albanian political and economical reforms as well as the role of Albania in their politics and the factors that determine these relations.

Abstract

This thesis represent the historical and political evolution of the relations between Albania-United States of America and Albania-Italy as a very important partner in the European Union.
