Paleografia dell'Editto di Rotari. Con particolare attenzione al manoscritto San Gallese.

In this essay I will discuss the Edict of Rotari, laws contained in a manuscript written by King Rotari in 643 in Pavia. The work will begin with a general introduction on how King Rotari came to think that the Lombard people needed laws no longer handed down orally but written, of the legal situation of the Lombards, of the internal structure of the Edict with the subdivision by topic treated in the chapters, and to conclude the additions of subsequent Rexes, such as Liutprand. The following chapter will be a specification on the San Gallo codex, I will analyze the language in which it was written, in Latin with some Lombard words, the rubrics and their decoration with their images, in the same chapter I will discuss the restoration of the codex which took place in 2008 with reference images before and after the restoration. The third chapter will focus on the articles present in it, in particular I will take women as an example case and therefore the articles written about them ranging from 178 to 223, which also include the theme of marriage, always with an attached photo of the article taken from the San Gallese codex.

In questo elaborato tratterò dell’Editto di Rotari, leggi racchiuse in un manoscritto redatte da Re Rotari nel 643 a Pavia. Il lavoro comincerà con un'introduzione generale su come Re Rotari arrivò a pensare che al popolo Longobardo servissero delle leggi non più tramandate per via orale ma scritte, della situazione giuridica dei Longobardi, della struttura interna dell’Editto con la suddivisione per argomento trattato nei capitoli, e per concludere le aggiunte dei Rex successivi, come Liutprando. Il seguente capitolo sarà una specifica sul codice di San Gallo, analizzerò la lingua in cui è stato scritto, in latino con alcune parole Longobarde, le rubriche e il loro decoro con le loro immagini, nello stesso capitolo tratterò del restauro del codice avvenuto nel 2008 con immagini di riferimento prima e dopo del restauro. Il terzo capitolo si concentrerà sugli articoli presenti in esso, in particolar modo prenderò come caso esempio le donne e dunque gli articoli scritti su di esse che vanno dal 178 al 223, i quali comprendono anche il tema del matrimonio, sempre con annesso foto dell’articolo preso dal codice San Gallese.
