The impact of climate change on human rights is increasingly acknowledged as a significant issue within legal and international discussions. Rising global temperatures, extreme weather events, and environmental degradation disproportionately affects vulnerable populations, exacerbating inequalities and jeopardizing human rights such as the rights to life, food, and health. Climate change leads to the displacement of many individuals, compelling them to live in unstable conditions, which raise concerns about the effectiveness of the current legal system. Furthermore, the rights of indigenous peoples and future generations are endangered as the environmental ecosystem is depleting. The nexus between environmental degradation, particularly climate change, and human rights calls for international cooperation and efficient legal mechanisms to address the infringements of human rights arising from the climate crisis.
