Charles Dickens e il Realismo Critico, un analisi di Grandi Speranze

After the Industrial Revolution in the 1830s,a new literary style came into being in countries like Britain and France, which rapidly turned into a mainstream literary trend that was the most celebrated, the most magnificent and most edifying .It is called realism by later generations due to it's realistic approach in writing and it's ruthless exposure of the world's reality. Charles Dickens, the most celebrated representative of this literary style, and the most renowned writer in the English speaking world after Shakespeare as well as a famous writer in the literary world, is irreplaceable in his contribution to realism. Born and grown up in England ,he starts with his own life experience ,combined with his deep observation on lives in contemporary America and Britain, creating various types of works many of which are regarded as classic in the history of literature. Among them, the most noticeable works are his novels. The key of Dickens' thought is the bourgeois humanism. He had great compassion for people living at the bottom of the spectrum of society. His work reflects his sympathy for the less fortunate and keeps his loyalty for working-class people and criticism of the capitalist system in Victorian England. In many of his works, he ruthlessly exposes the hypocrisy, decadence and corruption of society back then. Although he was not able to conceive a solution for the injustices, he successfully depicted a picture of working-class people's lives with his incisive observation, trenchant criticism and masterful words. This thesis focuses on the beginning of literary realism ,combined with Dickens' work----¿Great Expectations¿, analyses this literary style in-depth..Meanwhile ,this thesis also studies literary realism from a modern perspective with structure as follows: 1,Exposing the trenchant criticism of realism on the 19-century world requires us to combine Charles Dickens' work ,especially the forementioned ¿Great Expectations¿. 2,Analysing the colorful characters appearing in these works, again, focused on ¿Great Expectations. 3,Criticising Realism's limitations due to the time the writers lived in. This part focuses on the writers' views on bourgeois democracy and humanism.¿Great Expectations¿ is again used as an example. 4,Analysing realism's writing style with their ingenious conceptions and masterful writings. This part ,as is always, will focus on ¿Great Expectations¿ as an embodiment of the literary style.

In seguito alla rivoluzione industriale un nuovo genere letterario si fece strada in paesi come la Gran Bretagna e la Francia e divenne presto lo stile letterario più in voga del periodo. Questo stile fu senza ombra di dubbio il più celebrato, magnificente, e il più edificante del XIX secolo. Le generazioni successive l 'hanno denominato "realismo" in quanto adotta un approccio realistico alla scrittura ed espone la realtà senza filtri. Charles Dickens, il rappresentante più celebrato di questo stile letterario e più rinomato scrittore inglese dopo Shakespeare, ha dato un contributo fondamentale allo sviluppo del realismo. Nato e cresciuto in Inghilterra, ha iniziato a scrivere partendo dalla propria esperienza personale, osservando le vite dei suoi contemporanei inglesi e americani. A partire da ciò compose un grande numero di capolavori che sono ancora considerari classici della letteratura internazionale, specialmente i suoi romanzi. La chiave del pensiero di Dickens è l'umanesimo borghese. Lui provava una grande compassione per gli emarginati sociali, sosteneva la causa della classe dei lavoratori e fu sempre critico del sistema capitalistico dell'Inghilterra vittoriana. In molti suoi lavori espone l 'ipocrisia, la decadenza e la corruzione della società del suo tempo e anche se non fu in grado di trovare una soluzione alle ingiustizie dipinse con successo la vita dei lavoratori con il suo stile tagliente e allo stesso tempo raffinato. Questa tesi si concentra sugli albori del realismo letterario e in particolare sull'opera di Charles Dickens "Grandi speranze" analizzandone il suo stile in profondità. Allo stesso tempo questa tesi tratta del realismo da una prospettiva moderna e si struttura nel modo seguente: 1 Esporre la critica tagliente che il realismo fa del XIX secolo, in particolare prendendo come modello l 'opera di Dickens "Grandi speranze ". 2 Analizzare i personaggi che compaiono nelle sue opere in particolare "Grandi Speranze". 3 Criticare i limiti del realismo. Questa parte si concentra sulla democrazia e sull'umanesimo borghese. 4 Analizzare lo stile letterario realista prendendo "Grandi speranze " come modello
