Most research on organisational performance has been conducted on large corporations or public sector companies. Non-profit organisations (NPOs) play a fundamental role in society and the economy; however, research on their performance is still very limited. This dissertation will analyse the performance of NPOs by examining how productivity and efficiency are impacted by the following key elements: organisational structure, governance, and stakeholder engagement. A case study analysis is conducted on two non- profit organisations in the field of nature and heritage conservation. While the research conducted is primarily for academic purposes, it aims to contribute to a better understanding of the performance of NPOs. The case study analysis aims to identify the strategies implemented within the organisations to provide suggestions to other NPOs and propose better, alternative strategies for improved performance.
