ASPETTI CLINICI E FATTORI NEUROPROTETTIVI NELLA MALATTIA DI ALZHEIMER

The goal of this paper is to shed light on what has been said in the literature about Alzheimer's disease from different points of view. Therefore, in a first chapter, we will define and explain the symptoms and characteristics of organic disease we considered, doing a comparison between the non-pathological forms of brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases that culminate in Alzheimer's disease. We will shift in the second chapter our focus on purely neuroscientific aspects and we will approach them on that has emerged in the literature about the relationships between neurons that degenerate in AD and non-degenerate, giving ample space to research conducted on the extracellular matrix and on perineuronal nets where the neurons are all coated and on the hypothetical neuroprotective function that seem to exert on them.

L' obiettivo di questo elaborato è di far chiarezza su ciò che in letteratura è stato detto a proposito della malattia di Alzheimer da diversi punti di vista. Pertanto in un primo capitolo cercheremo di definire ed esporre le caratteristiche sintomatologiche ed organiche della patologia da noi considerata facendo anche un confronto tra le forme non patologiche di invecchiamento cerebrale e quelle neurodegenerative che culminano con l'Alzheimer. Sposteremo poi nel secondo capitolo, la nostra attenzione su aspetti più prettamente neuroscientifici e li accosteremo a ciò che in letteratura è emerso a proposito delle relazioni tra neuroni che degenerano e non degenerano nell'Alzheimer, dando largo spazio alle ricerche effettuate sulla matrice extracellulare e sulle reti perineuronali da cui i neuroni sono rivestiti e all' ipotetica funzione neuroprotettiva che su questi sembrano esercitare.
