“La Bella e la Bestia”: fortuna letteraria e versioni storiche di un motivo fiabesco (dai precedenti cinquecenteschi fino all’età contemporanea) ​

In this thesis I analyzed the fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast in its variants, within the context of the European literary fairy tale and in two cinematographic versions of the story. From the investigations conducetd on the different versions of the fairy tale, although Villeneuve was the first to establish the canon of the fairy tale, it emerged that it is possible to find different variants starting from the myth of Apuleius, Cupid and Psyche of the II d. C., to pass thorugh Straparola, Basile, Perrault, d’Alunoy, Beaumont, Grimm, Calvino up to the contemporary ones of Angela Carter of 1979 and the film versions of Cocteau of 1946 and Disney of 1991. ​

In questa tesi ho analizzato la fiaba della Bella e la Bestia nelle sue varianti, all’interno del contesto della fiaba letteraria europea e in due versioni cinematografiche del racconto. Alla luce delle indagini condotte sulle diverse versioni della fiaba, sebbene Villeneuve sia stata la prima a fissare il canone della fiaba, è emerso che è possibile rintracciare diverse varianti a partire dal mito di Apuleio, Amore e Psiche del II d. C, per passare attraverso Straparola, Basile, Perrault, d’Aulnoy, Beaumont, Grimm, Calvino fino a quelle contemporanee di Angela Carter del 1979 e delle versioni cinematografiche di Cocteau del 1946 e di Disney del 1991. ​
