Boccaccio e il fabliau. Confronto testuale tra Des Tresces e la novella ottava della settima giornata.

The present study aims to research the possible influences of the fabliau Des Tresces on the eighth novel of the seventh day of Decameron. The first chapter defines the genres of the fabliau and the novella: the period and site in which they developed, the main features from a formal and content-related point of view. In the second chapter, after describing the complexity of the research of Decameron’s sources and exploring the diffusion of the cut braids motif, the focus shifts to the analysis and the textual comparison between Des Tresces and the novella VII:8. Both texts have been divided into sequences and compared in search of shared textual or content elements, in order to understand if the fabliau could be considered a direct source of the novella.

L’obiettivo del presente studio è di ricercare le possibili influenze del fabliau Des Tresces sulla novella ottava della settima giornata del Decameron. Il primo capitolo definisce i generi del fabliau e della novella: il periodo e il luogo in cui si sviluppano, le caratteristiche principali da un punto di vista contenutistico e formale. Nel secondo capitolo, dopo aver descritto la complessità della ricerca delle fonti del Decameron e aver esplorato la diffusione del tema del taglio delle trecce, il focus si sposta sull’analisi e sul confronto testuale fra Des Tresces e la novella VII:8. I due testi sono stati divisi in sequenze e comparati per ricercare elementi testuali e contenutistici comuni, al fine di comprendere se il fabliau si possa considerare una fonte diretta della novella.
