Attaccamento e Disturbi Alimentari: l'Attaccamento Insicuro e il Binge Eating

The thesis aims to illustrate the correlation between an insecure attachment to one’s caregiver and the development of eating disorders, in particular the phenomenon of Binge Eating. The first chapter illustrates John Bowlby’s Theory of Attachment, offering readers information about the origins and different types of attachment that can be created. At the end of the first chapter the theory of internal operating models will also be explained, fundamental for including the formation of mental models in children. The second chapter is dedicated to Eating Disorders: triggers, different types and related healing therapies, and then focus on the phenomenon of Binge Eating. Finally, the third chapter allows to understand the correlations between an insecure attachment style and the development of the Binge Eating phenomenon, from emotional to relational ones, referring to some hints of research.

La tesi ha l’obiettivo di illustrare la correlazione tra un attaccamento insicuro al proprio caregiver e lo sviluppo di disturbi alimentari, in particolare il fenomeno del Binge Eating. Nel primo capitolo viene illustrata la Teoria dell’Attaccamento di John Bowlby, offrendo ai lettori informazioni circa le origini e i differenti tipi di attaccamento che si possono creare. Alla fine del primo capitolo verrà esplicata anche la teoria dei modelli operativi interni, fondamentali per comprende la formazione dei modelli mentali nei bambini. Il secondo capitolo è dedicato ai Disturbi Alimentari: fattori scatenanti, differenti tipologie e relative terapie curative, per poi concentrarsi sul fenomeno del Binge Eating. Infine, il terzo capitolo permette di comprendere le correlazioni presenti tra uno stile di attaccamento insicuro e lo sviluppo del fenomeno del Binge Eating, da quelle emotive a quelle relazionali, facendo riferimento a qualche accenno di ricerca.
