Roman o Londonu: Reality and Fiction of Milo¿ Crnjanski

Therefore, reality and fiction have usually been viewed as opposite notions. However, some claim that it is misleading to see these two notions as opposites but instead, one should seek the frame of reference. Reality and fiction are thus seen in terms of communication. Through the analysis, the primary purpose of this thesis is to determine elements that are indicators of similarities between fiction and reality in Milo¿ Crnjanski's life and his work of fiction. Crnjanski challenged these two notions in his works of fiction, especially in Roman o Londonu, the novel this thesis focuses on. The novel clearly reflects the historical and political situations of Crnjanski's life in the period of the novel's production. To conclude, by analysing the historical background of Crnjanski's life, his personal life and his works of fiction, the first signs of similarities between his fiction and reality came up. The analysis of the structure, time, themes, and characters of the novel, additionally supported the belief that reality and fiction in Roman o Londonu are closely linked.

Gli eventi narrati vengono quindi considerati all'opposto dalla realtà, intesa come ¿veramente accaduta¿. In opposizione a questo pensiero alcuni considerano invece possibile coniugare la verità di ciò che viene narrato e la sua narrazione. Verità e narrazione vengono così intesi come fattori da combinare all'interno della comunicazione di un evento. Nella produzione narrativa di Milo¿ Crnjanski è chiaro come la situazione storica e politica da lui vissuta, confluisca nella sua narrazione Attraverso l'analisi, lo scopo primario di questa tesi è di determinare gli elementi narrativi, nelle opere di Milo¿ Crnjanski, e specialmente in Roman o Londonu, che contengano reale verità storica e biografica, e quali invece no. Attraverso l'analisi del background storico, della vita dell'autore e della sua produzione narrativa, nella sua interezza, si è potuto notare come all'interno di Roman o Londonu, siano presenti elementi narrativi, mutuati dalla realtà storica e dall' esperienza biografica dell'autore. L'analisi della struttura,del tempo,della storia e dei caratteri del romanzo, ha fornito maggior convinzione all'idea che la realtà e la narrativa in Roman o Londonu siano strettamente legate.
