News Recommender System: un approccio per mitigare le filter bubbles.

News Recommender System (NRS) are information filtering systems adopted in order to address the problem of information overload, selecting content based on the user’s preferences or his observed behavior. If the adoption of such systems is inevitable due to the increasing information overload, an inconvenience is the possible reduction of the finisher from which the user observes the world. Customization algorithms may reinforce the user's tendency to interact with information sources that confirm initial opinions by showing content that aligns with their beliefs. Consciously or not, the user with his choices of daily media consumption contributes to create around him a filter bubble, which reflects a partial and limited representation of the world. To encourage users to include alternative viewpoints in their consumption, the NRS proposed here suggests articles with opposite political orientation given an article selected by the user.

I News Recommender System (NRS) sono sistemi di filtraggio delle informazioni adottati al fine di affrontare il problema del sovraccarico informativo, selezionando i contenuti in base alle preferenze dell'utente o al suo comportamento osservato. Se l'adozione di tali sistemi è l'esito inevitabile del crescente sovraccarico informativo, un incoveniente consiste nella possibile riduzione della finistra da cui l'utente osserva il mondo. Mostrando all'utente contenuti in linea con le proprie credenze, gli algoritmi di personalizzazione rischiano di rafforzare la tendenza dell'utente ad interagire con fonti di informazione che confermano le opinioni iniziali. Consapevolmente o meno, l'utente con le proprie scelte di consumo mediale quotidiano contribuisce a creare attorno a sé una filter bubble, che riflette una raffigurazione parziale e limitata del mondo. Al fine di incentivare l'utente ad includere nei suoi consumi punti di vista alternativi il NRS qui proposto dato un articolo selezionato dall'utente suggerisce articoli di orientamento politico opposto. ​
