Organoids, three-dimensional (3D) miniature organ-like structures derived from stem cells, have emerged as a revolutionary tool in the field of regenerative medicine. These self-organizing structures recapitulate in vitro the essential aspects of real organs, offering a unique opportunity to study organ development, disease modelling, drug screening, and personalized medicine. This thesis reviews the recent advancements in organoid technology, discusses their potential applications in regenerative medicine, and explores the challenges that need to be addressed for their successful translation into clinical practice.

Abstract
Organoids, three-dimensional (3D) miniature organ-like structures derived from stem cells, have emerged as a revolutionary tool in the field of regenerative medicine. These self-organizing structures recapitulate in vitro the essential aspects of real organs, offering a unique opportunity to study organ development, disease modelling, drug screening, and personalized medicine. This thesis reviews the recent advancements in organoid technology, discusses their potential applications in regenerative medicine, and explores the challenges that need to be addressed for their successful translation into clinical practice.File in questo prodotto:
