Nowadays, the circular economy is receiving particular attention due to the current situation the world is facing, in particular the need to tackle climate change and to strive towards the Paris Agreement goal to keep the Earth’s rising temperature below 1.5 Celsius degree compared to the pre-industrial levels. This final dissertation aims to analyze this concept and to illustrate its possible implementation. To achieve a sustainable development and growth, it is argued that the linear model of production needs to change. This model consists on the “take-make- dispose” process model. In order to do so, the circular economy is shown as a possible solution. A “take-make-use” alternative model that allows to introduce the “circularity” concept within the economy, allowing to recycle, reuse and remanufacture. This concept changes the mindset from a traditional economy, where the product’s life-cycle ends and finishes in the landfills. Throughout this thesis, different definitions such as current agreements that were made in order to reach these goals and ways to implement the circular economy within the society will be presented as well as successful business case studies in different industries. However, different issues arising in the implementation of the circular economic model are also examined. The final objective of this final dissertation is to understand to what extent the circular economic model can find worldwide application.

Abstract
The final objective of this final dissertation is to understand to what extent the circular economic model can find worldwide application.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
