The connection between law and economics has very ancient roots. One of the first appearances can be found in Hobbes' discussion on property, 17th century, but the real theories begun to appear only in the second half of the 18th century. The main purpose of economic analysis of law is to ¿explain and predict the behavior of participants in and persons regulated by the law¿ as Posner affirms. The aim of this work is to summarize the most important features and elements of the Economic Analysis of Law.
