Eutrophication in the Baltic Sea is a significant issue, 93.8 % of the region was assessed to be below a good environmental status (HELCOM). Dissolved nutrients available in the water are responsible for the increasing of primary production and organic material deposition. The decomposition of organic matter leads to hypoxic and anoxic water conditions. Anthropogenic inputs due to fertilisation had worsened it. An analysis of Nitrate, Nitrite, Phosphorus and Ammonium concentrations is given for the month of September. It is based on direct sampling in Askö, Stockholm, the results are compared with the Department of Systems Ecology at Stockholm University data for the 2022. Resuspension, salinity and temperature changes in the Baltic Sea and their effects and changes are explored to find a correlation in the nutrient’s seasonality. The results of the analyses agree with the previous bibliography for the BY31 area in the western Baltic Sea, showing a decrease in phosphorus and nitrogen concentration due to the HELCOM measure for the water and environmental conservation.
