The field of business ethics was born as a direct result of the exorbitant amount scandals that broke out in the past decades. The increasing concern from both legal institutions and the general public led scholars to study these dynamics. This dissertation firstly introduces the general concept of ethics, and how different theories are reflected in the corporate environment. In particular, consequentialist and non-consequentialist theories. The focus will then shift to corporate unethical behaviour, and its definition. Using behavioural tools, possible causes of unethical behaviour are listed. Finally, some possible solutions are offered despite some serious limitations.
