L'assicurazione dai tempi antichi fino ai giorni della Generali Toro

This thesis deals with the insurance world: from the initial forms of insurance, through the cha- racteristics of modern insurance contracts to today's situation. Nowadays, Generali Italia Divi- sione Toro is one of the most important Italian insurance companies. I would like to concentrate on this organization for two main reasons. The first one is that I had the pleasure to get in touch with its environment during a five-week work training at one of the branches of the company, the Brocchieri & Tadone S.n.c. The second reason stems from the long history of this company, especially in Piedmont, being also the insurance company my family has relied upon during the last decades. This thesis is divided into two parts: one in English, about the history of insurance and the related legal aspects, and one in Italian on the services provided by Generali Italia Divi- sione Toro. In the final section I include my point of view regarding Generali Italia Sezione Toro and the future of insurance.
