The aim of this work is to analize the main mathematical models involving the use of ordinary differential equations, that describe population dynamics. This work does not examine in depth the economical implications of this kind of phenomena: it describes the mathematical formalization used in order to describe reality. The first section describes of what population dynamics are, and the procedure to construct a model from data. The second section describes Malthusian model, and two extension of this model, one concerning immigration and the other concerning the variability of the evironment. The third and last section is about Verhulst model. This model introduces in the analisys other important factors which belong to the environment and are causes of variations in it.

Abstract
The aim of this work is to analize the main mathematical models involving the use of ordinary differential equations, that describe population dynamics. This work does not examine in depth the economical implications of this kind of phenomena: it describes the mathematical formalization used in order to describe reality. The first section describes of what population dynamics are, and the procedure to construct a model from data. The second section describes Malthusian model, and two extension of this model, one concerning immigration and the other concerning the variability of the evironment. The third and last section is about Verhulst model. This model introduces in the analisys other important factors which belong to the environment and are causes of variations in it.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
