The COVID-19 pandemic has already had an impact on the world's economies, societies, and quality of life. The effects vary across nations, and so do the corresponding policy responses. There are various effects on African economies, some of which are discussed in this paper that studies big economies in Africa such as Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, and the East Africa region where it shows how each nation reacted to the virus's immediate and medium-term effects. The paper also studies the country of Rwanda in a detailed way with a focus on macroeconomic indicators before and during the period of the pandemic, it details ongoing policy response measures and the anticipated short to medium socioeconomic impacts of COVID-19.
