Attaccamento e regolazione emotiva nella prima infanzia: il ruolo dell'attaccamento insicuro-ambivalente.

The dissertation investigates the fundamental role of the attachment bond as a risk or protective factor, particularly in relation to the development of emotional regulation capacity in early childhood. In the first chapter, the Attachment Theory is presented, analysing the development of this bond and the classification between secure and insecure attachments, and then the insecure-ambivalent attachment pattern is explored, focusing on the characteristics of the privileged relationship between mother and child and the possible consequences that this insecurity may have on the child's psychological development. The second chapter illustrates, starting from an initial definition of emotions and their development in the child, the fundamental evolutionary stages in the development of emotional regulation in early childhood, identifying the factors involved. Lastly, the third chapter investigates the influence that the quality of the attachment bond can exert on the child's regulatory ability, emphasising how the construction of an insecure-ambivalent attachment bond can lead to dysfunctional outcomes in the development of regulatory competence. Starting from these considerations, a brief reflection is then proposed on the possible strategies to be implemented to support children with difficulties in the field of emotional regulation.

La dissertazione indaga il ruolo fondamentale del legame di attaccamento come fattore di rischio o di protezione, in particolare in relazione allo sviluppo della capacità di regolazione emotiva nella prima infanzia. Nel primo capitolo si presenta la Teoria dell’attaccamento, analizzando lo sviluppo di tale legame e la classificazione tra attaccamenti sicuri e attaccamenti insicuri, per poi approfondire il pattern di attaccamento insicuro-ambivalente, focalizzandosi sulle caratteristiche della relazione privilegiata tra mamma e bambino e sulle possibili conseguenze che tale insicurezza può avere sullo sviluppo psicologico del bambino. Nel secondo capitolo si illustrano, a partire da una prima definizione delle emozioni e del loro sviluppo nel bambino, le tappe evolutive fondamentali dello sviluppo della regolazione emotiva nella prima infanzia, individuandone i fattori implicati. Infine, nel terzo capitolo si indaga l’influenza che la qualità del legame di attaccamento può esercitare sull’abilità regolativa del bambino, sottolineando come la costruzione di un legame di attaccamento insicuro-ambivalente possa portare ad esiti disfunzionali nello sviluppo della competenza regolativa. A partire da tali considerazioni si propone, poi, una breve riflessione sulle possibili strategie da implementare per sostenere i bambini con difficoltà nel campo della regolazione emotiva.
