La tesi introduce il diritto d'autore e i diritti connessi al suo esercizio e analizza il fenomeno delle copyright collecting societies (CCS), società che gestiscono collettivamente tali diritti, descrivendo le loro origini, la natura, la diffusione e le caratteristiche della loro attività. Tali società rappresentano un fenomeno di portata mondiale e per quanto riguarda l'UE, la tesi esamina in particolare le nuove disposizioni relative a questo settore stabilite dalla direttiva 2014/26/UE. In conclusione, descrive la storia delle CCS in Italia in ambito musicale e ne analizza due, SIAE e Soundreef e le fasi del loro confronto in questi anni.
The thesis, introduces copyright and neighbouring rights and analyses the phenomenon of copyright collecting societies (CCS), societies which collectively manage these rights, describing their origins, nature, diffusion and characteristics of their activity. These societies represent a worldwide phenomenon and about UE, the thesis examines in particular the new provisions related to this sector established by the directive 2014/26/UE. In conclusion, it describes history of CCS in Italy about musical field and analyses two of them, SIAE and Soundreef and the phases of their comparison in these years.
